Quite possibly the best legacy of the Occupy movement, Strike Debt played the financial class’ own games and won, abolishing the chains of thousands with the one and only people’s bailout.

And Strike Debt knows that it only starts here. Knowing that donor-driven debt cancellation is only a means, and not an end, Strike Debt desires to enable local imagination to broaden the debtor’s movement. That is why Strike Debt/Rolling Jubilee Portland is throwing an open house to invite the community to resist 1% profiteering by illegitimate debt.

This weekend, celebrate this national achievement with free food, free drinks, and free music. Learn more about what Strike Debt is and what they’re doing. Listen to co-organizers and partner groups share their vision for the city. And participate in the planning for the local group’s first action: a Debtor’s Assembly.

Onwards!
