What are the risks if the largest coal companies in the world transformed the Northwest into a dirty energy corridor to supply US coal to Asian markets? Coal companies propose to bring over 150 million tons of coal annually through the Columbia River Gorge to ports in Bellingham, Longview, St. Helens, Boardman, and Coos Bay.
Learn more about protecting the Northwest from becoming a dirty coal exporting region. Portland could see coal trains along our rail lines and coal barges in the Columbia River. Learn

about how proposed dirty coal export projects would dramatically affect our community’s health, climate, and economy, and how you can help prevent it from happening.

You’ll learn about:
• Big Coal’s plans for turning the Pacific Northwest into Coal Country
• The health, economic, and safety realities of the coal export proposals
• The threat to our local economy, green economy and reputation
• Impacts to our climate, wildlife, oceans and freshwater fisheries
