There are so many great events happening on Black Friday aside from Buy Nothing Day, that it’s best to check out the Wiki. Here’s what’s listed!

  • Attention Walmart Shoppers – Happening all throughout the day and all around Portland and Vancouver, we will be mic-checking the crowd to share important information with Walmart shoppers.
  • Occupy Christmas Caroling - @ Pioneer Sq. from 9AM to 12PM, come sing new carols of our times, followed by a march at noon.
  • Fur-Free Friday March – Animal Defense League hosts a march. Meet @ Nordstrom, Downtown @ 10:30AM
  • COMMUNITY Friday - @ the LightBox Kulturhaus – 2027 NE MLK Blvd, From 11AM-1oPM, a day filled with incredible events and a much more enjoyable alternative to shopping.
  • Occupy Cafe - @ First Unitarian, 12th and Salmon, in the spirit of “world cafe” and “open space technology”, 4-7PM. The agenda is open within the theme of building community and a movement.
  •  Light For Life Candlelight Vigil - Starting at 4PM, join us in a mass day of action on Black Friday to challenge the unjust consciousness of greed and excessive materialism. We will illuminate the darkness until morning by lining the outer perimeter of Pioneer Square with ourselves and candles.
  • Buy Nothing Day Bike Ride/Critical Mass – 5:30PM Meetup @ Jamison Sq. NW 10th and Johnson
  • Spokes Council Meeting @ 7PM at Director Park, Yamhill and SW Park with a proposal for an indoor operations space.
