Come share your concerns, needs and feelings about your GA experience and engage in deep listening with your fellow occupiers. This is a time to explore your relationship to OP’s self-government and how it can better serve you. Monday, Oct 24, 6:30 pm Terry Schrunk Plaza
This discussion is being facilitated by Judith Mowry, a grass-roots community facilitator.
As a side note, I’ve worked with Judith before. She is an excellent facilitator who deeply “gets” the consensus process.
Are you aware of how great of a risk your camp is becoming for the spreading of TB and other public health issues? See the following report: http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/00019922.htm
Actually the likelihood of TB being spread in Open Air events is very slim at best. There is however a moderate or high risk in close air situations like homeless shelters which is why many states require TB testing for homeless before they can receive shelter.
MRSA and Bacterial infections are more likely since showering facilities are not exactly available and people who are colonized can easily spread it just by contact.
If you’ve been to the Occupy “Tent City” you will realize that significant parts of it are not, in fact, open air. The main part has a tent ceiling, and enough tents bordering it, that for all intents and purposes significant parts of it are not an open air encampment.
Take the momenmentum you have and move it to a more formalized program to lobby the lawmakers. A 501c4 will allow you access to those who can do what you want done. You can occupy and organize at the same time. They are not exclusive of one another.
should this be put on the google calendar?
Hey there-tried to send this to the text tree, but I can’t get back on. Ya’ll have heard about the chemical bom tossed into the Occupy Maine site, yes? Be careful out there.
