We Are Oregon and the Black Working Group are pulling together with a number of organizations involved in resisting evictions – Tenants, Squatters, Homeowners, the Houseless — to call for Community Agreements on Housing Justice & Housing as a Human Right. Organizing for the Town Hall are the Black Working Group, We Are Oregon, Right to Dream Too, Sisters of the Road, Community Alliance of Tenants, Blazing Arrow Organization, Decolonize PDX, Portland Solidarity Network, and the City Hall homeless vigil. The idea is to organize communities to cometogether (through canvassing and town halls) to draw up their own agreements establishing eviction free zones and the occupation of empty buildings, with rapid response networks.
Have you heard? Mayor Sam Adams and commissioners, Randy Leonard and Nick Fish, all support fluoridating our water. Even though this has been put to a vote with the people three times, and has been shot down every time, they plan to still push a plan through to add fluoride to our water. This will cost taxpayers $5 million!! Money that can be better spent for teachers and keeping our schools open, feeding and sheltering the houseless or healthcare for those who cannot afford it. Please come out Wednesday and support keeping our water clean and chemical free. People should have the right to choose what goes into their bodies!! Freak Out About Our Water!! Come on out to the City Counsel meeting at 9:30am on Wednesday, August 22nd and tell the mayor and city counsel that Portland doesn’t want fluoride in our water. Rally Against Fluoridation!! Rally in front of City Hall at noon on Tuesday, August 21st to say no to Fluoride.

On June 20th, the Summer Solstice and longest day of the year, Community Supported Everything is declaring Interdependence Day. We believe we can all benefit from celebrating the potential of our collaboration in between resisting and protesting. At 11:45am we will gather at the northeast corner of Pioneer Square in preparation for our Global Collaboration Flash Mob. Immediately following we will begin preparations for the Community Supported Everything Dinner and Dance Party at Colonel Summers Park at 6 pm. The Dinner is going to be featuring the free and vegan cuisine of Food Not Bombs and the Occupy Portland Kitchen followed by a decentralized dance party. We are calling on our Community to come share your stories, ideas, cooking, art, music, passion and intention to work together to build a more enjoyable world. Sometimes we just need to make time to celebrate what’s possible. Find us on the web at www.thesymbiosisproject.org Or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/CommunitySupportedEverything
