HOW TO SHARE YOUR EVENT WITH OCCUPY PORTLAND
If you’ve just thought of an event, are looking for collaborators, and want it to be a General Assembly approved event, read this: How To Bring Your Proposal To G.A.
You have a planned out event you want to get approved by G.A.:
You can get G.A. approval by coming to G.A. ½ an hour early and submitting your proposal to the facilitation team. Without prior input from other Occupy Portlanders, your proposal may or may not be endorsed. It’s always best to get feedback early in the conception process. Creating a working group or consulting with the Actions Committee (actioncommitteepdxATgmail.com) may be a good way to broaden the scope of your event and number of supporters.
Once your event is approved by G.A., you can then:
-Put together a flier for the event (in PDF format). Images are a plus. If you’re not graphically-inclined, you can reach out to the Occupy Portland Design Collective, our collective of graphic designers, to get a helping hand in design.
-Put together a detailed event notification.
A GOOD NOTIFICATION HAS
- image attachment in jpg/pdf/png format
- Who, What, Where, When, Why
- Links to background info
- Event Coordinator Contact Info
WEBSITE-Attach the flyer and put details in the body of an email, then send it off to: where it will be placed online at occupyportland.org
MAINSTREAM MEDIA-Email it off to so that PR can publicize it using mainstream media channels.
WIKI-Submit it to the Occupy Portland wiki (How to Submit)
CALENDAR-Submit it to the Occupy Portland Calendar by emailing
FACEBOOK-Blast the event around facebook, the facebook page has moderators but all are welcome to post on the group page: http://www.facebook.com/groups/occupypdx/
