I have to say something about the banner. It’s right over the people shots, can’t see much of anything. How about take it down from the live stream or at least place it up at top where all the buildings are?

Thanks so much for doing this. The Oregonian has made an enemy of me with their blatantly biased coverage of Occupy Portland from (nearly) the very beginning. I will never purchase another copy of that rag and when my husband and I both I let them know why in separate emails we were completely ignored.

Hey there, I have a quick suggestion but am not sure to whom I should direct it: I lOVE your web site; it’s informative, it’s attractive to the eye, it’s easy to navigate, it’s interactive, and it includes a spectacular, regularly updated slideshow. My only concern is that the Twitter banner up top there is so often dominated by deliberately misleading, negative, and blatantly untruthful comments. I think it’s not necessarily a bad idea to include the twitter messages somewhere on the site if that’s what you all want to do, but putting this in such a prominent place seems to lend them an unearned air of legitimacy. I’m sure we can all agree that while, of course, everyone has a right to air their ideas, not every idea is equally valuable nor should every idea be looked at as equally significant or worthy of placement just under the Occupy Portland banner. I’d place the tweets somewhere less prominent or take them off all together. There are plenty of opportunities for folks to comment all over your beautiful site.

my apologies. This should read “…wireless and WIRED lapel and handheld microphones.” Can run up to two simultaneously. No outboard mixer for more than two mics, sorry. Mics are primarily Sennheiser, with Sony backups.

Folks:

I recently finished shooting a documentary, and my camera is returning from major overhaul this week. I’d love to make myself (and gear) available for video shoots. I shoot on mini-DV, have lights (for interview/studio-type lighting setup – no “camera mounted” lighting), wireless and wireless lapel and handheld microphones, and the skills to use it all. I am also willing to cooperate/team with others in shooting/audio/etc.
I was laid off 20 months ago (thanks to corporate greed!) from after 30 years of commercial, corporate and nonprofit broadcasting. I have earned 4 Emmy awards for technical and creative skills.
I should be available on an on-call basis WEEKDAYS from Nov 2 or 3 (when my camera returns from service) until Nov 4, and then 24/7 during the week of Nov 8-12. I can shoot 4:3 or 16:9 – you choose. Can provide the completed footage on the original mini-DV or can xfer to DVD for you within an hour or two.
And, all for NO CHARGE. I believe in the cause.

There are hundreds of photos coming in daily. Media coalition could really use some help at camp, sorting images and picking out the best ones. We can’t do it alone!

I’m getting really frustrated with the media coalition because I keep trying to get my images posted somewhere on the site and I keep getting ignored. Why isn’t there any direct contacts listed or an easy way for people to post imagery?
