i am curious – where the comments that the police HAD tear gas, or that they where USING tear gas? the difference is a huge deal and if our livestream operators or mixing the 2 terms up i’d like to make sure that gets corrected. We’ve never had tear gas used against us in portland but the police have def had tear gas at the rdy several times.

Thanks for the great livestream coverage. Some food for thought..

Several (more than 3) times the livestream person stated the police were using “tear gas” and this was even repeated anecdotally to a bystander.

My experience with tear gas is it’s a canister lobbed into a crowd emiting vast quantities of tear gas “smoke” if you will, causing immediate and vigorously obvious distress.

Did not see anything even remotely resembling this, so I conclude there was no tear gas and these statements are inaccurate and dangerous.

Journalistic integrity please. Take a lesson from Mr. Pool at livestream NYC/we are the 99%. (if you are going to provide and broadcast/create a narrative, keep it clean)

On behalf of Occupy Portland, and the general public, we would like to thank Mayor Sam Adams. Thank you Sam Adams for granting us the liberty that you and your staffers have. Thank you Sam Adams for supporting our cause when you speak to media and supporting us through weeks of patience, your hard work in keeping us safe and litterally spending most of your waking ours managing this challenging situation at a time that has soo many challenges already for a community, lastly, Thank you Sam Adams, Portland Police as well as officers from other agencies. Community outreach who are on the ground ensuring that our needs and the communities needs are met. Most of all, serving and protecting us and we thank you. Thank You For Your Service! May we all be inspired by the example shown through powers that be in Portland, inspired to serve. When we see the example you display, Sam Adams, We are reminded of a great speach – Quote “It is not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country” Big Thank You Portland!
