Whaahh!!! Yes, this jumping protagonistic idiot was seriously injured. Watch the videos of him jumping and twisting around just hours before. He's a faker and liar. He got exactly what he asked for and is using it to get sympathetic attention from sadsacks like you. And no, the first amendment does not mean it is the number one right of Americans. It simply means you can try to interject your ideas as long as you are not otherwise breaking the law.

I so agree! This is a guy that claims to have previously had a broken back and so the police should handle him like he is injured. Just a couple hours before this there are videos (and I witnessed in person) this (sweet man???) jumping around screaming more violently than just about anyone. Of course he was going to end up in this position because he was one of the biggest protagonists against the police. Do I believe that the police are the dogs of those in power. Yes. But they are also who any of us in trouble hopes will be there to protect us in a time of need. I believe many of them are nothing but hired thugs, but I don't believe that applies to most of them. Just like Justin, all it takes is one out of the hundreds to provoke our worst sides.

I completely agree with Kyle.

Officers showed so much self control, and quite frankly I witnessed spitting, cursing, and shoving of officers just doing their jobs with no retaliation on their part.

As well, I watched both videos of Mr. Bridges and feel comfortable in saying "I don't believe him".

I supported what Occupy Portland stood for until I witnessed non-civil actions.

The damage to pubic property has been devastating.

I cannot support acts of destruction to public property as a means to an end.

I no longer support this movement until they can come up non-destructive ways of "peaceful" demonstration.

Carefully viewing this and many other videos is very telling. This group is not peaceful. If you watch very closely you will see things being thrown, people screaming in the faces of the police waving their arms. Look at 10:25 min...on this video the guy in the blue jacket is not peaceful. He is screaming and has his face almost touching the officers face shield. It is also interesting that the video that was posted under this headline yesterday has been removed. It was claimed that the video showed police beating Justin Bridges. If you study these videos you will see that what was claimed to be police beating Justin. (look at 10:25 min on this video). Police are pulling one girl from the crowd who is being shoved into the police and falling down. Police are not beating anyone they are swinging their batons to get people to move and also striking one protester on the hands to make him let go of another officers baton. If you watch the entire video carefully you will see Justin Bridges in the crowd walking around shouting... not signing. At 13:08 (long after the time on the video that was claimed as the police beating him he is walking around)
The baton swinging on yesterdays video was to the right and Justin is the the far left of the crowd.

And just what is it you stand for??? That is what is unclear! The 1st Amendment is the freedom to gather for a reason, not just to be a nuisance. There's campgrounds and Mt Hood for camping. Woodstock was many, many years ago and yes Elvis is dead.

Occupy got off scott-free. One of these events is going to delay emergency services, someone will die and Occupy will be guilty of murder.

Occupy spaces filling out job applications, occupy a cubicle, occupy a home and family, occupy the soup kitchen if you wish. Demonstrate in a way that matters, not destroys public property, prevents emergency vehicle access, gets people hurt. I suppose if media and goventment just left you alone and didn't champion you cause - whatever it is - you'd eventually get the message and get creative and effective.
