Wow, another fat, frog faced latina bitching about white people. No surprise. At the Occupy Portland web site, they have a ‘White priveledge: What is it?’ class, besides ‘Illegal alien meetings’. As I see it, the most important people at the rally are the kids, anarchists, street-kids, the children of people who built this town, and that’s all colors. They are the population that got screwed in life.
The illegal mexicans, are illegal mexicans and ‘all’ need to go back over the fence or rot in jail forever.
Any blacks that still have race problems, such as our muslim pres, or now the Okland gang-member, protest infiltrators, that caused the recent violence, cause that is what they do. I bet after the next ‘Let’s Hate White People” rally in Portland, things are burned, windows broken, and because it’s Portland, gangs will ramp up violence accross the city due to the cops being busy baby sitting the kids. That is their job, safety. Illegal aliens and black/russian/mexican/etc gang members commit crimes, that is there jobs.

It’s great to see some Latin@s getting face-time in the struggle.

BUT.
A handful of Latin@s does NOT mean that the Latin@ community supports Occupy Everything. As was said in the video, the majority of the Latin@ population doesn’t even know what Occupy is about– and that is because, honestly, Occupy does NOT represent the interests of our people. The people of the hood are overwhelmingly NOT represented by the “99%”– so far. As a Latin@ who is concerned by the struggle of my people, which has been happening for MUCH longer, I can say that the Occupy Everything movement does NOT represent solutions for the majority of my gente.

Instead of asking “how we can get more of ‘X’ kind of people involved in our movement,” which is a paternalistically racist frame of thinking, Occupy Everything should ask “how can WE, as mostly middle class folks, get involved in THEIR struggle”– the struggle of people of color, the people at the bottom. We’ve been fighting in much worse conditions for much longer, and the only way to make a REAL revolution that will liberate ALL of us, is to find out what the Hood needs.

For my people, EVERY DAY OF LIFE is an occupation. How can we get more white people where the people of color are at?
