Occupying Wall St/Occupy Portland and other Occupy sites will send a stronger message to corporations and government and show more solidarity with the 99% by keeping marches and occupations in financial and government agency areas.

What is the point of taking over an area in a neighborhood surrounded by businesses and households who for the most part are NOT the 1%? Not really very radical occupying a neighborhood park used mostly by working families and employees of area businesses. Want to make a statement? Stay focused on corporations and government corruption instead of disrupting the live of those you could be building community and gaining support from.

May wisdom and peace prevail - may the occupy movement help galvanize, represent and unite the 99%!

I agree with koosh. Please do not push for arrests at Jamison Square. I support the Occupation, have visited and have defended the protest to others. Pushing a confrontation with the police at Jamison Square will not further our cause.

To those of you who have the guts to do what everyone else who is getting dumped on by big business and government are too spineless to do THANK YOU!
As to Jamison Park I have seen NO TENTS so it’s not a camp. I’m so sorry for those who live there you would rather be screwed by big business and the governments they have purchased have your middle-aged children your brothers and sisters and grandchildren homeless or dead than be inconvenienced for a few days out of your life. I sincerely hope you get just that. By the way how’s that disappearing retirement plan going the 1% say thanks sucker keep on complaining about the people who want to help you sucker!
I’m not an occupier I work too many hours to stay but I do support the movement and come to the protest often.

Staying at Jamison Park is poorly thought out cry for attention now that the occupation movement is petering out in the publics eyes. Think bigger people! Stop camping and start using your resources to inform the public and organize boycotts before you lose all of your supporters. I really would like to continue to support the movement but it seems to be going nowhere.

Two sections of the Oregon Constitution, Article 1, offer legal grounds for the Occupation.

Constitution of Oregon: 2010 Version

ARTICLE I
BILL OF RIGHTS

Section 1. Natural rights inherent in people. We declare that all men, when they form a social compact are equal in right: that all power is inherent in the people, and all free governments are founded on their authority, and instituted for their peace, safety, and happiness; and they have at all times a right to alter, reform, or abolish the government in such manner as they may think proper.

Section 26. Assemblages of people; instruction of representatives; application to legislature. No law shall be passed restraining any of the inhabitants of the State from assembling together in a peaceable manner to consult for their common good; nor from instructing their Representatives; nor from applying to the Legislature for redress of grievances

THERE ARE 495,000 PDX'S IN THE 99%. ONLY 1,000 OF THEM NEED TO SHOW UP AT THE NIGHTLY GENERAL ASSEMBLY WHICH STARTS AT 7 PM AND VOTE EVERY PROPOSAL DOWN...OR TWINKLES DOWN AS THE CASE MAY BE. THE STATEMENT BELOW IN FACT ENCOURAGES PARTICIPATION FROM ALL THE 99%.

TAKE BACK YOUR CITY PORTLAND, THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT REPRESENTING YOU AND IN FACT TARGETING EVERYONE IN THE TOP 50%. THIS MEANS YOU!

"We are an open assembly, designed to welcome the 99% — with new people always arriving, people with profoundly different perspectives, experiences, needs, values, ideas. This diversity is valuable, a source of wealth."
