It was excellent. Theres another one at Thurs from 2-4. 4. Blue The GA as it stands is a great structure for issues, but not our conflicts. We need another forum that removes structures. If we cant find a way to express ourselves openly and still work with others. The idea is called 2 chairs intended to find common ground. 5. The stand up comedy event is definitely happening. It's 700 seats. Two local comics - Dwight Slade and Augie Smith and maybe Nato Green. We're counting on the place being full. I need help with the aspect of a silent auction. 6. However there are relatively people who are actually camping while there are a lot of people over there. Lets try to get them over here. II. Proposals 7:40PM 1. GA Expansion Proposal Ani - this was started last night, but did not reach agreement. So we're going to go through this again. POP I was under the impression that there would be announcements not only from committees but also other general people. Ani: We just did that 9. My name is Chase and as a part of the jobs with justice i wanted to get peoples info for the possible bus shuttle. Also, there is a PSU activist one day mini workshop to have people support each other and promote self care for activists tomorrow from 12-6PM in Smith Room 294. Ani: Back to the proposal tonight. Cameron will read and then 10 mins for C?s, we'll do a temp check, move in to concerns, temp check, evolution and then see if we can find agreement. This is the same process for all the proposals. Kristin is going to be calling stack - remember the number she gives you. Cameron: How are my fellow occupiers? Yea, like that. I'm Cam. this if my friend Pete. This is my proposal. It is addressed with revision of concerns that were addressed last night. I proposes a camp meeting at 10AM that would propose …and 7PM at Pioneer Square to address the global scale of this movement. No conflicts. Only 4 blocks away. If assistant is needed the community is available to help. A complete livestream would be available. This will allow us to stream line the GA process while incorporate the larger community. We have a core group of occupiers that are in the camp at all times. An evening GA gives us more visibility this makes the process accessible to the broader community and two marches a day. If a schedule conflict arrises, we will inform the GA in advance. This is expansion will allow for focus. CLARIFYING QUESTIONS 1. Why do we want to move the GA 4 blocks away. DId I miss that? Ani: That might be better expressed in the concerns. Let me clarify the c?. If there's something specific thing that you don't understand that is time now. 2. What sort of support are you willing to give in terms of transport for people with disabilities who want to attend the GA? Peter - We've discussed both with info and safety they're main obligation for the camp but they have been providing facilitation for people with general disabilities. But its the communities responsibility. 3. What has been done to let the public know we'll be holding these sessions in PS? Cam - So it hasn't been announced yet since we're here trying to decide if it's going to happen. 4. I was under the impression after last nights GA, that concerns were raised that were not addressed in your prop. Specifically, i am at a loss that i am positive that there was at least 1 concern last night that was not addressed. DR One concerned that was raised that this would disconnect the GA from the camp. Ani - This would be all a good to raise in concerns. Other things we need to know about this 5. It is my understanding that PS is privately owned. DR - I am personally putting on a rally and i had to secure $2300 to be there. DR Last night it was clarified that PS is owned publicly and there is a private co that is in charge on what goes on there. DR Adding to that. It is publicly owned and managed by and independent co to ensure the cleanliness and continued upkeep of the property. Peter - I spoke with the management co twice. I confirmed that the park is public and publicly available. 6. I would like to know if you have talked to them or found out what the cities mission statement is for PS. 7. As I recall from last nights GA, there was a request to include a sunset clause is that in this proposal? Peter - it's my understanding as a group that we are open to that as an amendment. It was proposed yesterday that a sunset clause be included. C? What is a 2 week sunset clause? Peter - if we agree to this, in 2 weeks we can come back and decide to revisit. Its a way to check the proposal. 8. I was the troy davis rally b4 his execution they had to speak with their own voice because the PS requires to use their PA system and they want 600 bucks for that. Have you got the 600 and are there other permits that might be required? DR I think thats why we have the mic check. Ani - that wraps up 3 rounds of stack. i want to take a temp check at moving the prop forward. In favor: We're moving forward. So we have 10 mins to address concerns. CONCERNS: 1. I know this was brought up last night, but i think it bares repeating. This prop seems like two sep props. We're talking an awful lot about one (PS), and not a lot about the other. So i'm guessing i'm not the only one who feels good about one part of the prop and not the other. My concern is that we'll end up passing this based on one thing with out having a discussion about the other part. Ani - I will restate - you feel there are two sep issues, one separating the the issues and the other is the event. DR That's not my understanding. Ani - yes, you stated that better than me. So camp meeting at 10, global Occupy issues at 7 at PS. Ok good. 2. I was going to say we should split them 3. My main concern is that the audience at PS will be smaller than it is here. What are you going to do make sure that we get a bigger audience? Peter - To address your question now, the issue of PS is that it's at the center of our city. The reason in specific is to encourage the broader community to show up. Show that's an exact issue why we want to move there. We're hidden here. We want to be in the public eye and attract the larger community. News has a sign off at PS. 4. I have a concern about the level of respect that the GA will have from the general public because sadly it is not just 1% that does not support the movement and i've already seen it here where dissenting voices have come in a disrespectful manner. 5. I would like to address the transportation issue and ask specifically if it has been already discuss that we are in fare-less fare between here at PS. DR Its the free rail zone, so it's only rail. 6. If we're not allowed to use loud speakers in PS then the meetings will be substantially slower. 7. Many of us here care deeply about this camp, but we have jobs and so therefore would not be able to attend a morning GA in which important decisions about camp would be made. 8. My concern is that your attempting the reaches of who can take part in this assembly in making decisions to actual living in the camp. with 90%.... If those people in camp right now who are so concerned about our decision making process are so concerned would be here. Ani - those weren't really DRs, so i would like to limit them. DR Factually, the prop states that any issues that deal with the camp would be discussed in the morning meeting that would take place right here at Terry Shrunk Plaza. No decisions discussed at PS would deal with internal camp issues. 9. I'm deeply concerned that a move of the evening GA and bringing in a morning Ga would make it more difficult for camp parts to part in the GA process and create a physical divide. Ani - that was 10 mins for concerns. DR I just want to say and gently remind people that we are reps of a greater whole and thus it is incumbant upon, that means were responsible for reaching out and including everyone while holding this space in unity. Ani - not a factual DR Pete - NYGA moves. Ani - Ok. WE hear 10 mins of concerns and this is where we temp check if we want to move to the evolutionary phase. If something is not working for you, you can amend or evolve or tweak. TEMPERATURE CHECK 811PM: most people are not participating. this is where i say, it's important not to participate. Again.....Ok, we're going to move forward. POP Would it not be more accurate if people would have their hands down? Ani - we can absolutely do that. So lets do that again....we're moving forward EVOLUTION 1. I have an amendment to proposal in reflects of concerns voiced. perhaps language of PS should be removed and brought forward as a sep prop. so this is prop is just about a camp GA and global related GA. no....amend the other way around TEMP CHECK: no agreement POP Is that not changing this proposal that we've worked now for two nights in to two diff props. is that not a huge change? Ani - let me say, in our evolutionary processing of props, they do change. i would like to get a sense of the group about that amend. if we can temp check about those voice. are there questions? POP just to clarify i don't see how that is an amen if it's completely changing the prop and completely removing the morning meeting. C? We don't have a process in place for when a proposal is actually two props in 1. so what do we do in that circumstance? POP If were changing in two separate issues if we're looking to doing that Ani - we do exactly what we're doing now. cuz this is the process. At this moment we're looking at limiting this discussion which means that this evolves the prop. this is one way we can do this. TEMP CHECK: as originally stated - I'm seeing we're keeping it as one proposal and a a lot of non-participation POP I am unclear if we're doing a temp check and we're discussing an amendment. do base that on majority rule? Ani - there was not agreement on that amendment POP I think that if from now on when you are asking for votes you either hold your hand for every one of those, or dropping your hand when your voting in the negative one. your leading people by example and thats wrong. Ani - Ok we're at time, but 2 more people on the stack. C? - Process is a zombie that's eating our brain. Let's just try this out! Ani - we are at time for the evolution. So I want to encourage us all to take a deep breath and stretch a little. Let's remember unity and solidarity. Let's talk to each other for a second because i am sensing lots of tension that doesn't need to be here. remember why we're here and that we love and respect each other. I want to refocus and look in to moving in to the agreement phase. I'm spending time on process so we can all participate and keep bringing people in. SEEKING CONSENSUS: too close, actual count was recorded - POP i think if we're going to do math we need a whole count of the entire body. We have 55 in favor, 28 not in favor, 17 standing aside. Ani - that is not close to 90% and i don't think it's worth our while to do a recount. but what i encourage you to do is to continue on the great ideas you've heard from people. So we can't bring it back. I want to thank Peter and Cameron a lot for working their asses off. More feedback, more ideas and more props POP I think this is a POP i propose in future count verbal count off. Ani - I think there are times that can be a useful tool. Thank you for the suggestion. 8:40PM Carrie: This is the last prop, one group pulled their proposal off. I know we're losing folks, which is fine because it's getting late, but can the rest pull in closer. Laurie King with Jobs with Justice. Organization thats been fighting for over 20 years for workers rights against corp. power and greed. OP has give us a big boost. Lots of gratitude for everyone. We have a prop that the action committee has already agreed to, but we want the agreement of the GA to publicize. Its going to go over the I5 bridge and join pdx and vancouver. We would love the endorsement of the GA and the publicity for it. And it'll bring OV too! Carrie: The little girl was not found - 10 year old girl. please bring her back to camp. Her name was Elena. Laurie: Our prop is that we link up with the action comm. We'll have a bus in every probability and we'll pick people up here. Carrie: I'd like to clarify that this is a prop being brought forward that we would have an action every saturday and decide that action every tuesday. C?s 1. i am excited about this, however i have a question i remember that involved in that proposal that was passed by a previous GA, we said that they major mobilization every saturday would have a common start time and start location and i wonder how this prop sets a precedent for that? 2. i just wanted to clarify that the simplest way is that someone could get on a bus. we could have our weekly marches at the elk and this could set the precedent Carrie: Temp Check if you're in favor for this being saturdays march: no opposition, 2 standing aside. I noticed that theres no opposition. Can we move to a vote? TEMP CHECK TO MOVE TO CONSENSUS: moving to seek consensus proposal restated SEEKING CONSENSUS: 100% consensus! Carrie; All this will be posted everywhere! Now we're going to move on to the presentations for the future. III. PROPOSAL ANNOUNCEMENTS: 1. Adbusters has sent out a call that we do a global protest on Oct. 29th - day before g20 summit. I'm proposing we formalize that and put it out there. I am at the volunteer coordinating booth. I'll be there. 2. Rachel I am an occupier and i work with sierra club and we just endorsed the occupy movement nation wide. we want to do a rally! any ideas to add? i want to come up with a joint statement with sierra club and OP. 3. My name is kristin - i dont know if your aware, there are some sexual offenders that use this address to register. i want to have booklets of people who want to know who these offenders are. no judgement, it's in case you want to be wary. GA ended around 9:20PM
