As you may have heard, Occupy Longview is throwing a joint solidarity event with the Cowlitz-Wahkiakum Labor Council on May 11th to show that organized labor and the community can work together, and we recognize that bridging the gap between the two is a step forward in inspiring and effecting change.
We are writing you today to officially invite any and all who may be interested in, not only joining us for this event, but to also be featured as speakers before the after party with a no-host bar and LIVE MUSIC!
We plan to meet in the Civic Circle at 5:30pm for an unpermitted rally with speakers, then to venture into the Monticello Hotel at 7:00pm for the after party/social.
The experiences we have all been through since last December with being involved with the unions and labor, would not have been the same without the solidarity of Oakland, Portland, and others. So, at this event, come celebrate the unity of both labor and Occupy, aka the community, aka the 99%.
Come stand with us, dance with us, share your testimonies with us, and celebrate with us!
