Brought to you by the Occupy Portland Labor Solidarity Committee:

This year on tax day, as we are reminded of the great inequality and injustice in our society, join us for the fifth exciting Portland Rising event, linking struggles for jobs and against cuts to needed public services. From beating back the corporate tax dodgers to fighting cutbacks to public services, we’ll support four unions who are standing up for the 99% by standing up for their jobs.

12:00-1:00pm, Terry Schrunk Plaza, SW 3rd and SW Madison St.
Tax Dodgerball 1% vs. 99%
The 1% have dodged taxes long enough. Watch the 99% level the playing field!
This year on tax day, come see an exhibition dodgeball tournament pitting the 1% against teams of janitors, struggling homeowners, city workers, postal workers and other members of the 99%.

Rally and “Bake Sale” at City Hall with Laborers’ Local 483
4:00pm-5:00pm, City Hall, 1221 SW 4th Ave
Budget cuts still loom large at the City of Portland. Should our city have to organize bake sales for public bathrooms, garbage collection, pre-school, & street repair? We say NO! Help us remind City Council to put community needs first and to work for real solutions, not cutbacks and layoffs.

March to MAX for free ride to the Post Office
While we ride the MAX, we will support the Amalgamated Transit Union 757 and OPAL who are fighting fare hikes and service cuts at Trimet.

5:30-6:30pm, Portland Main Post Office, 715 NW Hoyt
No Taxes Needed to Save America’s Postal Service.
Informational Picket & Leafleting: Stop the Closures! No Service Cuts!
Help prevent a massive wave of closures of mail sorting plants and post offices. Community actions have postponed the closures until May 15th. We need to push further to protect jobs and our postal service for good.
